Today has been a thoroughly wet and miserable day in BC. It snowed throughout the night (which I must admit is lovely to be nice and cosy in the tent listening to the snowfall on the canvas) and when I emerged this morning there were a couple of centimetres on the ground. Throughout the day it's been damp and cold, and at one point the precipitation almost manifested itself as rain (!). Very weird!
It's been a relatively quiet day, with everyone keeping themselves to themselves - mainly due to the grotty weather. When the sun is out, BC comes alive with climbers and BC staff alike all out enjoying the rays and making the most of the good weather, such as washing clothes and rebuilding their tent platforms (a job that requires almost daily attention at the moment due to the ever morphing glacier). However today is one of those days where people hide away. I've spent most of it in my tent: snoozing, reading, playing on the Playstation, eating treats etc.
In terms of the mountain, as you can probably guess it is in the middle of a bad weather cycle at the moment, and so nothing is happening - everyone is down in BC. There are rumours of better weather at the weekend and early next week... I hope that these come true, as we are running out of time, and it would be good to get another chance to head up the hill!
