Not long to go now! Usual last minute panic planning – no expedition would be complete without it! Visas sorted, picking up flight tickets in London this afternoon, finalising insurance details, still fishing for sponsorship, packing, sorting food, website etc. A to-do list as long as my arm, but despite all of this, minimising stress and beginning to get very excited about the adventure this summer!

Spent last week away on another P&O cruise around the Med with a great friend. Lecture and public interview went very well, but amazing weather, calm seas and fantastic on board entertainment made it a very memorable week. Stopped by in Cartagena and Gib (again), so got to have a little culture mixed in with all the fun!

Incredible news about ‘ol Ran Fiennes on Everest. Never has the saying ‘third time lucky’ been so apt. An amazing achievement, made all the more impressive by his sheer doggedness and determination over these last three expeditions. I remember when we both were first there back in 2005…

The website should be having a little ‘K2 face lift’ in the next few days, so keep you eyes peeled…
