Do you want ice with that?

If you haven't already, check out Olly Hick's website (www.virginglobalrow.com) about him undertaking perhaps the maddest/bravest expedition that I've ever heard of! Olly is attempting to row solo around the Antarctic, in a trip that will take him the best part of 16 months to complete, and has never been completed before. Using a specially designed and constructed boat (The Flying Carrot!), Olly will be dodging icebergs and killer whales whilst being at the mercy of the horrific weather and storm conditions of the Southern Ocean in an attempt to row round the world. It may be the shortest way round, but believe me, it is certainly the hardest.
Good luck Olly, safe journey, keep your head above water, and when times get really tough, just remember, that it's probably warmer out there than it is back here in the UK!
