Charity clarity…

February 24th, 2009 by Jake
Okay, how about supporting a great charity whilst getting freebies in return and chances to win prizes? Sounds too good to be true? Mountain Rescue England and Wales have a 'supporter scheme' where for a small donation you can become a member of Basecamp - the new national supporters group for Mountain Rescue England and Wales. If you apply online you get a subscription to the magazine, plus a badge and car sticker. However, I also hear on the grapevine that if you apply in person at their stand at the Outdoor Show at the Birmingham NEC this year (27th-29th March 2009), you'll also get goodies (kindly donated by Victorinox) and the chance to win a limited edition Mountain Equipment Kongur Rescue Jacket.

Mountain Rescue England and Wales is one of those fantastic organisation that we all hope that we'll never have to make use of, however it's reassuring to know in the back of your mind, that if something happens whilst you're up in the hill, there are people there to help. In my mind, they are the RNLI on land, and so deserve our utmost support.

So, without further ado, I'm joining Basecamp, and so should you...
