My most inappropriate expedition yet…
As we plucky Bits are plunged into yet another fuel scare and petrol shortage I have just set off on my most inappropriate/obscure and downright pointless trip yet! A 2600 mile road trip through England to try and reach the highest point in every county in the shortest amount of time possible. Believe it or not, by the time that you add up all of the shire counties, metropolitan counties and unitary authorities there are a whopping 82 of the monkeys! Well having started in Kent at 8am on Sunday morning, we (Beany, Wally and myself) have so far claimed 34 counties in the past 36 hours! We are now in Northumberland, preparing ourselves for an early morning ascent of The Cheviot, before pushing down to Mickle Fell (Co. Durham) and Scafell Pike in Cumbria tomorrow. We’ll keep you posted as we go along, but all things being good, we aim to reach the top of Brown Willy in Cornwall within 7 days! This is a monster road trip, pointless orienteering exercise and general example of how to be really uncomfortable for over a week, all rolled into one!
